About Us

I am Abhinav Srivastava, and I am excited to share my musical journey with you. My passion for music began at a very young age, inspired deeply by my mother, the late Asha Srivastava, and my uncle, Mukul Kumar Sinha. I was especially captivated by the mesmerizing Hawaiian guitar instrumentals of the legendary Sunil Ganguly, whose music became a lifelong inspiration for me.

At the age of 13, I received a second-hand Hawaiian guitar and began taking lessons in Kankarbagh, Patna. However, after moving to the United Kingdom in 1977, I lost access to both lessons and my guitar. Despite this interruption, my love for music never faded. In 1981, during a visit to India, I convinced my father to buy me a new guitar, reigniting my musical passion. Throughout the 1980s, I performed regularly at family gatherings and cultural events, while also learning the finer aspects of rhythm and musical expression from Pt. Popatkar.

A major turning point came in 1985, when I discovered an old 8-string Fender Hawaiian guitar in Manchester. In 1986, I began collaborating with Dr. B.N. Jayaswal, which eventually led to the formation of our beloved “Chacha-Bhatija” band.

Inspired by the legendary Sunil Ganguly, I continued to nurture my art as a self-taught Hawaiian guitarist. Since 1987, I have been captivating audiences across India, the United Kingdom, and the United States through soulful performances and musical gatherings.

After a 25-year hiatus, I returned to music in 2016 and began sharing my performances on YouTube, starting with the song “Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye Humdum.” My beloved pugh-poodle, Daisy, often appears in my videos, adding warmth and charm that helped me connect with a growing global audience.

Over the years, I have organized several gatherings and performances for Hawaiian guitar enthusiasts and music lovers. Some of my notable performances include:

  • March 2020 – Sur-Nirjhar: Asha Ke Sitaare, Patna
  • December 2021 – Hawaiian Guitar and Vocal Concert, Kankarbagh
  • March 2022 – Sur-Nirjhar: Taaro Ke Sitaare, Hotel Maurya, Patna
  • September 2022 – Opened for the Javed Ali Concert, Atlanta, USA

My musical journey has also been blessed with recognition and appreciation from renowned artists such as Javed Ali, Hariharan, and the late Bhupinder.

As of March 2025, I have shared more than 300 soulful renditions on YouTube and Facebook, continuing to spread my love for the Hawaiian guitar with audiences around the world.

Music has been a lifelong companion, reconnecting me with cherished memories, inspiring meaningful relationships, and allowing me to celebrate the timeless beauty of melody. Thank you for joining me on this wonderful musical adventure.
